I never said it was going to be easy

Just remember, your body and spirit are FAR stronger than your mind will try to let you believe. Repeatedly push past that barrier, your greater potential and the achievement of your greatest goals await on the other side.

To movivate me to run faster and harder, I actually look around at the folks in the Y, or in my running crowd, or on the road, who run faster or farther than me. In the middle of a run, when I feel like I should stop running, I just look around at all the normal, everyday Joes out there. None of those people are elite athletes. None of them do it for a living. All of them have jobs, families, churches, and every other kind of commitment that I might have. They've just chosen to do something for themselves and to make the time necessary to reach their goals. I may never beat them or run as far as them, but there's no reason that I can't at least compete with them.
