My Wellness Testimony
The MillerCoors Wellness Program has been a tremendous help for me. One of the programs offered is ‘Fit in 15’ instructed by Major Batton. Signing up for this class and completing it I gained an abundance of benefits.
When I started the class I was wearing a knee brace. I had been suffering from back pain, knee pain, and neck pain from arthritis over a period of 2 years. You name it, I had it. I was also very weak in certain areas of my body and tried everything. I went to an Orthopedic and Chiropractic. I had a shot in my back, and physical therapy several times. I would feel better for a while then the exercises became difficult from physical therapy because the pain came back. I took pain medicine sometimes to feel better; I had been taking it a lot but knew that was no solution. I wanted to know why my body continued to hurt and I knew this was not right. I also questioned taking too much pain medicine.
Then finally I said, “this isn’t right!” I need to do something else. The exercises I did should be strengthening me instead of starting to hurt me. After this wave of thought I said to myself let me try the Wellness Program and use a fitness trainer. That was the best thing I could have done for my body.
I went into the class with a mind set on stopping the pain. I came out with so much more because I didn’t wait too late. I went in talking with fitness trainer, Major Batton right off at the beginning. He taught me to strengthen my muscles first before we start exercising them too much. That explained why the physical therapy exercises only work for a short time and pain would come back. The physical therapy was too much too fast; the muscles were not strong yet. Now I am stronger after the class and have lost weight. Even inches off my waist! As I stated earlier I went into the class wearing a knee brace and I stopped wearing it before the end of the first class. It was so beneficial I signed up for a second class session! I would recommend the MillerCoors Wellness program to anyone, I didn’t wait too late and I am thankful for that!
I am also thankful for, the many benefits gained. I will continue to keep moving as a way to manage my arthritis. I figured I can do 15 minutes a day for myself to stop the pain! The pain is gone and my arthritis flares up from time to time but not like it had been. Thanks to the Wellness Program I can manage pain better and I walk a mile a day as many times a week as I can. I could not do that before. Thanks again, for the MillerCoors Wellness Program!
